~*Inspirational Sheet Music for the Lever or Pedal Harp*~ | Hymns With Style | This collection of beautiful hymns has been arranged for beginning to lower intermediate harpists. These pieces can be played on a lever harp or a pedal harp. As a beginning harp player, I always felt so alone when playing, and I knew it would be easier to play with a piano, or an instrumental accompaniment. But as I searched for music to fit my need as a beginner, I was unable to find few harp pieces that had a CD accompaniment. And, it was difficult to find another harpist with which to play. Therefore, the goal for these arrangements was to give the beginning player or any interested harpist a chance to play with an accompaniment. Each individual hymn has been arranged with a variety of instruments which compliment the harp sound. The CD accompaniment comes with two tracks for each of the five separate hymns. The first track for each piece is the full score and you as the harp player can play along with the CD arrangement until you feel comfortable enough to play with the accompaniment track. The second track is the accompaniment track for each of the five hymns. I hope you enjoy playing these beautiful hymns as much as I have enjoyed arranging and performing them. | The book has five hymns with CD accompaniment. My favorite wind instrument is the flute. I also enjoy playing the dulcimer while my husband plays his guitar. While in college I minored in Music, but earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am retired from teaching after 24 years at our local elementary school, and hope to devote more time to my music and other ventures. During the child rearing years I taught piano lessons, directed church youth choirs and directed our church hand bell choir for 13 years. But I always yearned to play a harp. Finally in January of 2000, I decided to purchase a lever harp. I still consider myself a beginning harp player, as there is always a need to practice and reach the next level. But I will never regret the day I touched those first harp strings. | This is my Triplett Signature Harp. | |
