LampShades These shades are hand made by using an age old technique of cutting and piercing a decorative pattern on a lamp shade. First, the shade is painted on the inside of the paper, and then it is hand cut and pierced. Finally, it is put together with a protective liner. During the day, the shade is a beautiful subtle color with raised cutwork. At night, the pattern is revealed as light shines through when the lamp is lit.
